are claiming unemployment benefit. Some say that New Deal was designed with this in mind, to allow the Government to release lower figures for unemployment. However the NDYP has led to a considerable decrease in JSA claims for 18-24 year olds.
Statistics of NDYP states that almost 1 in 3 people on NDYP leave benefits without securing a job or receiving education or training. 42.89% went in to employment (no mention of sustainability), 25.84% stayed on benefits and 31.27% never reclaimed
Jobcentre Plus - Flexible New Deal
Service merged with the Benefits Agency.

If you do find work after being on any kind of training course thru the jobcenetre, remember you still qualify for the Job Grant and associated ‘benefits’ (see direct.gov for details) These should be paid automatically but won’t be, and unless you get onto them you will miss out
