What a good start to the day, the bus arrived at the TNG rented offices only to find that despite it being Utterly Bloody Freezing, none of the staff had arrived and the shutters were down. A staff member then appeared and let everyone in. I would like to point out that one of

So yesterday I had my appointment at the Dole at 9.30. This was quite handy, as it meant I could get it out of the way, go to the library and then do other things with my day (baking, mostly). However, I live a couple of miles from the dole

is advised to fill gaps of unemployment but employers are getting clever to this. They know about VSo etc. and are very quick at writing off voluntary work as compulsory periods of unemployment. Typically the only considered voluntary work is one in addition to having a paid job.
What a lot of people forget is there are thousands of paid jobs in the third sector – knowing this, why would you volunteer? Employers wont understand the concept of genuine volunteering.

I will say this in favour of the people on this programme: they are very nice. They are also Not the Dole, which is nice because you feel less like they automatically hate you for existing. They want to help you follow your passions. Which is also nice, but
