are claiming unemployment benefit. Some say that New Deal was designed with this in mind, to allow the Government to release lower figures for unemployment. However the NDYP has led to a considerable decrease in JSA claims for 18-24 year olds.
Statistics of NDYP states that almost 1 in 3 people on NDYP leave benefits without securing a job or receiving education or training. 42.89% went in to employment (no mention of sustainability), 25.84% stayed on benefits and 31.27% never reclaimed

a week i cut grass for two house bound ladies and made £15 not bad for four hours work and i got a cup of coffee and home made sponge cake off one of them when i was finished any jobs for cash in hand will make you more than a weeks jsa and no hassle from the jc into the bargain.
dont give up jobsearch though but at least you can choose what jobs you want to apply for not what your nda considers you should apply for (amazingly though every job the jc “selected” for me with

course to receive your benefit where your placement (if you get one) is heavily reliant on your provider (who might not like you) and you could be stuck in one which you don’t want to do.
If there was a scheme available, where after you signed on you could voluntary opt in to doing between 1-5 days of work experience a week to gain skills in retail etc. eliminating an big unemployment gap and also being able to opt out at anytime this would be much better than waiting 9-12 months
