about abolishing Attendance Allowance which is paid to those 65 and over ( Attendance Allowance is the equivalent of the care component of Disability Living Allowance ). Instead they intend to force the elderly to pay £20,000 to insure themselves!! The Green Paper talks about replacing not just Attendance Allowance but ‘disability benefits’ – a clear sign that it is not just Attendance Allowance which is in their sights. And the Green Paper dresses up its purpose with the usual

The problem with Agencies.
Employment agencies are a curse on jobseekers, and are commonly acknowledged by jobseekers as their worst enemies. My own informal surveys have thrown

claiming jobseeker’s allowance and housing benefit.
Then in December 2008, the advisers at the jobcentre told her she no longer qualified for jobseeker’s allowance.
According to the Department for Work and Pensions the fact that she was within 11 weeks of giving birth disqualified her from being an active jobseeker. She was told to apply for income support instead. What no one warned her was that European nationals who claim income support must provide more proof of
to receive Jobseekers' Allowance (or to not receive it, in my case), you have to complete a form which outlines what you have done in the last fortnight to find a job. I used to be very conscientious about this aspect, making sure I had proof that I had contacted the requisite number of (potential) employers, noted every agency I had registered my details with. I would show the clerk what a good job I had done, waiting for some kind of recognition. In fact, I was criticised. I forget

year." And "It means every household in Britain faces a bill equivalent to £3,425 a year to pay for the growing army of the unemployed." (Does that include unemployed households?) The problem with all this throwing about of figures is that nobody is sure what's included. "Recent figures from the Commons library show unemployment is already costing around £61billion a year. That sum includes the total for jobless benefits – including jobseekers’ allowance and
to the provision of social housing." Alarm bells started ringing. Does it mean that your tenancy is linked to undergoing training by private providers? Apparently not. The only link I can find is on a presentation by Reed in Partnership , delivered in March this year, which says "DCLG and DWP are working more closely together on the housing and worklessness agenda. Nine Flexible New Deal Phase 1 proposals with partnership working with housing associations as a key focus across all." I

too small to see, we were allowed to go home.
Except those who required the minibus, who would have to wait.
Whilst waiting, a lady was checking the booklets we had filled in. On one of the pages had been a list of potential health/disability/issues. They weren’t simply a list of disabilities in the usual way, they included if one had any weaknesses say, lifting things, or with vision problems. So I was partially honest. In truth I should have checked more but omitted those I

The parking would have been about 200 mtrs away. There were the black encasement’s for the CCTV, around 4 in the reception. Hard chairs with arms were provided. It was very busy on the day I attended but they hold different medicals for different benefits there. The examination room was probably

Parliamentary documents from House of Commons etc. the Government regularly carries out fraud investigation on training providers. Seems they don’t do much of a good job.
New Deal has cost around £10bn and claims to have gotten a million people in to work which works out at £10,000 per person.
As I am one of them people in addition to my benefit I had received £195 training allowance (even though spent on travel deduction and food – it has still been allocated to me) twice
